SMOK has been known to release state of the art vape devices with all the out of this world tech-looking designs. But with SMOK Vape Pen 22 simplicity takes the lead.

It may look like a starter kit but the 0.3ohm coils in the box this device surely has something to boast. Let’s have a look on how this piece performs.

The SMOK Vape Pen 22 is a 22mm pen style kit with an eGo-style 1650mah battery that conveys a fixed voltage but this device has sub ohm capabilities and large power output with the 0.3 ohm coils

Contrary to most typical eGo type batteries, the SMOK Vape Pen 22 also has a tank base constructed into the cylindrical battery.

The SMOK Vape Pen 22 comes with a two sub-ohm dual-coil atomizer that is screwed in the base. Then the glass tank lies over the atomizer which is held by an o-ring.
At the atomizer head lies the top cap with drip tip.
The first step to take before using this sleek device, install one 0.3ohm coil then fill it with e-juice. If this is the first time you’ll fill the Vape Pen 22 with e-juice, remember to wait for at least 3 minutes before firing for better absorbency of juice in the coil.

What I love most about the Vape Pen is, unlike other pen style devices, I can easily dismantle and assemble it when cleaning.

I noticed at the bottom that two large airflow slots are available. There is also a hole that serves as a ventilation.

You can also locate a USB charging slot at the base. And using the vape while charging is possible.

The fire button has a convenient size and has an LED indicator. When I tried it’s very responsive.

With a measurement of 22mm x 110mm weighing about 90g, the Vape Pen 22 is a handy, simple and easy to use device that you can conveniently take anywhere.

Judging it on the way that it looks and the feel of the device, the build is obviously made of highest quality.

Now to finally test the Vape Pen 22.

The only available coil for now is the 0.3ohm coils.

I loaded the device with e-juice, waited for a couple of minutes for the liquid to settle on the coil. Then it totally swept me away!

I expected less from this simple, one button operation device. It gave me a pretty powerful vapor inhale and the flavor was intense.

I tried other pen-style vapes before but I can say that this gives more flavor and substantial clouds without too much effort, ideal for mid level vapers looking to give sub ohm vaping a try for the first time.

It may look like a starter kit but this discreet monster is definitely for long time vapers rather than the new ones.

The wicking holes at the coil head are large, thus, wicking max VG juice in the coil heads are perfect.
However, I noticed that the Vape Pen 22 drains a lot of juice and fast.

The 1650mah battery lasts the whole day of vaping, which is very impressive. And the LED indicator flashes when the battery is nearly empty.

But when your battery got emptied, no need to despair, the Vape Pen 22 fills up its battery in just 2 hours. And you can use it while charging.

Safety features are also available in this device. Low resistance protection, eight second cut-off, low voltage and short circuit protection.

Upon test driving the SMOK Vape Pen 22, I would say that this can be the device for both long-time vapers and for beginners who can handle a somewhat powerful vape pen.

I love the stealth design that provides a full sub-ohm vaping experience packaged in a small, user-friendly kit.

  • The flavor and vapor from this device is unbelievable given its size and simplicity of design.
  • The coil heads are excellent. Wicking different types of juice is no issue.
  • The size makes it very easy to carry around.
  • Its simplicity makes it easy to dismantle and assemble when cleaning.
  • Battery life is superb. It can last a day of vaping. And charging it does not take forever. And you can even use it while plugged.

  • As it appears to be a starter kit for beginners, the SMOK Vape Pen 22 maybe a little too strong for people who are switching from smoking to vaping. The 0.3ohm coils are going to be too powerful for new starters.
  • The tank is fixed to the battery; thus, it limits the options of trying out different tanks.

Final Verdict

The SMOK Vape Pen 22 is a great buy for someone who loves a simple and handy device yet with powerful vape and great flavor. I would not recommend this to people who haven’t tried vaping, as this may come quite powerful to handle.

The battery life is great, definitely a good buy for people on the go and does not have the time to charge their device every now and then for the rest of the day.
