Here we have the new atomizer from Wismec. The Wismec Neutron RDA designed by Jaybo who is well known for creating awesome RDAs.
This dripper atomizer features interchangeable posts so you can use it in parallel or series configuration. This is one RDA not to mess with by newbies. Make sure to consult an expert with the different kind of builds for series and parallel, and also check with an accurate ohm-meter before installing it to your mods.
First let us look at the build quality of the externals. Neutron is made from Stainless Steel measuring 25mm in diameter and 39mm in height (from the 510 connection to the drip tip). The top cap has a unique vortex design that claims to have more efficient air flow than the traditional top cap. This can be replaced with chef style top caps.
At the sides, there are 6 adjustable airflow holes, 3 on each side, it can be adjusted by simply twisting the airflow ring.
At the bottom, you will see the engravings from Wismec and the threaded 510 contact. To fill the atty with the juice, simply remove the top cap and drip your juice directly to the cotton.
The whole atty can simply be taken apart since they are only held by O rings, aside from the posts of the building deck.
Inside is where the magic happens, the build deck was pre-built in parallel configuration. Changing it to series is really tricky, if you do not have enough knowledge with building decks, I suggest you consult a
technician before messing around with it. There is no information about how to change the deck in the user manual. However, I managed to find one in their website.
For the test, I am using the Wismec Clapton wires 0.5ohms that were included in the package. I tried the parallel set up first, reading at 0.27ohms on my RX200s power mode, wattage at 45W, airflow fully opened. I got a nice cool vapor but not that much flavor.
Testing on a higher voltage at 60W with my aspire nx100 and closed out 2 airflow holes. I got good flavor and decent cloud production with a warmer vapor. Around 15minutes of testing, the heat on the atomizer started to build up.
Now testing series configuration, ohms reading at 0.98ohm, wattage at 80W and airflow fully opened. Nice cloud production. The flavor was superb with really cold vapor.
Testing it on a higher voltage and mod set to 100W. The result was really good. Cloud production was great, perfect for cloud chasers. Although I lost a bit of the flavor and the vapor was a bit warmer. Continuous vaping at 100W for 10minutes, the heat on the RDA was intolerable.
I changed my build back to parallel configuration, since I felt like the series config was stressing my battery more than with the parallel build. And also, I am not usually vaping around 100W, it was too much for me.
Series config produced more clouds on this set up compared to the parallel build but it is still up to your choosing. You just have to make sure that you understand the difference between the two so you would not mess your mod.
Overall, the Wismec Neutron 25mm RDA is a good atomizer to start with. For me the interchangeable posts are not that useful. Most vapers do not switch between series to parallel decks that often. This can be a great atty with some minor adjustments, but as it is, it will not shine through the crowd of the atomizers we have in the market.
- Adjustable airflow.
- Replaceable top cap.
- The manual should have the step by step instruction on how to change configurations.
- The well on this RDA is really shallow measuring only 10 – 11mm.
- The O ring that holds the barrel is not strong enough. I got a bit of leaking at the bottom of my atty.
